Pastor Jackie was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. She completed graduate studies in Special Education at Korea University in 1999. She then graduated with an M.A. degree in Art Therapy from the University of Wisconsin, after which she pursued and obtained her Ph.D. degree in Arts-Psychotherapy from Union Institute & University in Cincinnati, OH. She has practiced as a psychotherapist and art therapist for the Dementia and Alzheimer’s population and taught as an adjunct professor at Adler Graduate School in Minneapolis, MN.
After completing her Doctoral program, Pastor Jackie married her husband, Mircea, in Minneapolis, MN in December 2006 and they moved to New York, NY the next year. She practiced as a psychotherapist at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Queens, NY for the addiction population in the hospital’s detoxification unit.
In 2010, the Lord called Pastor Jackie and she enrolled in a degree program at Nyack Alliance Theological Seminary (ATS) in Urban Ministries with a concentration in Pastoral Counseling.
Pastor Jackie’s passion for missions began as she was asked to travel as a public speaker in order to train, teach and counsel house church lay pastors, missionaries and church planters in the US as well as overseas.
Pastor Jackie has a tremendous partnership with her supportive husband, Mircea, and their son, James, and they love traveling, riding bikes, and camping together.
