Grace and peace of our loving Lord Jesus Christ to all who love the Lord with an undying love.
Last week, as Sunday approached, the Elders and I were praying and discussing what to do in case the inclement weather became too dangerous for people to be on the road. We made the call to cancel on-site service and let the whole church know as soon as possible, which was at least two hours before the service time, but since we have people coming up from some distance, even that was not early enough. Some of you had to turn around. I apologize for any inconvenience. I also want to thank those who came to make the livestream possible (see the YouTube link below). I hope and pray that the online service helped to keep our spiritual rhythm healthy and vibrant.
I don't know if you have been paying attention to this weekend's weather, but I am afraid Sunday doesn't look good for now. Of course, the weather will always surprise us and humble us. However, we are preparing for the worst-case scenario: 8-12 inches of Snow on Sunday. The servant-leadership will let you know as soon as we make the decision. No matter what, we will do our very best to remain a worshipping community and keep our spiritual rhythm well.
We're trying to update our email list, but we are having issues with the software company that services our email needs. The service has so far rejected our efforts to update the list. So, if you are reading this, that's great! However, we are looking into moving all email announcements to the Church Center App for better communication. Whenever you have any questions about the status of our Sunday worship, please check with your Community Group leader. Also, check our homepage at www.riversidepeople.org.
Let's pray, plan, and problem-solve to build God's Kingdom at Riverside Community Church, a House of Prayer for All Nations. Above all, let's pray. Pray not only for our immediate needs, such as our Sunday Worship, but also for the workers to be sent to us, for the harvest is plentiful. Pray for the Next Generation ministry, as we celebrate 30 years of God's faithful mercy towards us.
“This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ (Jeremiah 33:2 & 3)
In His Grace Alone,
Pastor Brian Lee
