Seeing the Kingdom more clearly through Disability (not Disabled) Theology with Milal Mission

ree

1. It’s not “theology about disabled people” but “theology through disability.”

There is a sharp distinction: disability is not just a topic or group to study but a lens that reshapes how we understand God, humanity, and the Gospel itself.

2. Disability is not punishment or shame.

The Bible does not link disability to sin or lack of faith. Instead, God often chooses the weak and the overlooked — Moses who struggled to speak, Paul with his thorn, and Jesus who took on weakness and wounds for our salvation.

3. Every person fully bears God’s image.

People with disabilities are not objects of pity or projects for charity. They are disciples and leaders in the body of Christ. Their presence calls the church to reorder community life around God’s grace, not human ability or social norms.

4. The church must welcome and learn, not just “help.”

True inclusion means rethinking worship, community, and mission so that people with disabilities are active participants, not sidelined. They are often the ones who teach us most clearly about dependence on God and the beauty of His grace.

5. Hope is not erasing weakness but redeeming it.

In the kingdom of God, our brokenness will not simply disappear — it will be transformed through Christ’s resurrection. Weakness itself will be transfigured into glory. That is the hope we share together.
